When Leopold Schepp died in 1926 , just one year after establishing his Foundation, the reins were taken up by his only child, Florence. For the next 40 years, the Foundation flourished and evolved under her able and visionary leadership. From an organization that initially helped “worthy” young men complete their secondary schooling, the Foundation grew in scope to help both men and women pursue their dreams of higher education on the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels. Along with honoring her father’s legacy for more than four decades, Miss Schepp enjoyed painting, music, traveling, and spending time at her summer house in Nantucket.
